FWA Welcomes New Board Members

On June 3, 2016, elections were held in Orlando, Florida for seven At-Large seats on the FWA Board of Directors.  FWA is pleased to announce the addition of four new members to the Board of Directors.   The following FWA members were chosen by the general membership to serve on the Board of Directors:

Lance Avera of Avera & Smith, LLP in Gainesville, Florida has been practicing almost exclusively in the field of workers’ compensation for the past 27 years.  He has been Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation with the Florida Bar since 1999.  Mr. Avera is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and handles cases from Miami to Pensacola, including appellate cases.  Lance is a past chairman of the Florida Justice Association’s Workers’ Compensation Section and a member of the Workers’ Compensation section of the Florida Bar.  Lance’s extensive knowledge and trial experience will be an asset to the Board of Directors.

Paul White-Davis of Morgan, White-Davis & Martinez, P.A. in Winter Park, Florida has been practicing law since 1998 and has been practicing, almost exclusively, in the area of workers’ compensation since 2001.  Paul enjoys representing injured workers and believes in advocating for their rights.  Paul will be a great asset to the Board of Directors as his mission has been and continues to be assuring that citizens of Florida have fair access to the rights and benefits they deserve.

Zachary Tucker with the firm of Paul Doolittle, PA in Jacksonville, Florida.  Zachary handles the firm’s Florida Workers Compensation cases as well as Longshore and Defense Base Act cases.  Zachary has been a member of Florida Workers’ Advocates for the past three years and has attended all of the Board of Director meetings and serves on several committees.  Zachary is a great addition to the Board and is ready to continue to advocate on behalf of injured workers as a member of the Board of Directors.

Arthur “Chip” Beal is a sole practitioner in Tallahassee, Florida.  Chip has been practicing law since 1980 and is a long-standing member of the Florida Workers’ Advocates.   Chip previously served on the Board of Directors for FWA and is a former President of the Organization.  Chip bring a wealth of workers’ compensation experience and institutional knowledge to the Board of Directors.

Please join FWA in welcoming Lance Avera, Arthur “Chip” Beal, Zachary Tucker, and Paul White-Davis to the Board of Directors.  In addition, Steven M. Meyers, John F. Sharpless, and Salvatore “Sal” Sicuso retained their seats on the Board of Directors.  All of these members will bring unique insight and skills in helping FWA continue its mission to protect and defend the workplace of Florida and particularly the rights of Florida’s injured workers.  Welcome!!
